Playa del Carmen is a worldwide well-known destination for divers.
The diving sites are all nearby, a few minutes by boat will be enough to access them. From beginner to experienced diver, everyone will be delighted by the diversity of biodiversity of the dive sites: deep diving, drift diving, wreck diving and many more.
You will explore the most colorful and interesting diving sites of the second largest coral reef in the world.
There is a large variety of dives spots, many corals and marine fauna : tropical reef fish, sponges, lobsters, groupers, sea fans, turtles, moray eels, rays, angelfish, stingrays, sergeant majors and bull sharks (from November to March).
A minimum level of Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is required. If you do not have this certificate, you can obtain it by following the Open Water Diver course PADI.
Wreck diving: Mama Vina is an old shrimp ship intentionally sunk in 1995. You can also explore the interior of the ship and admire its marine life.
For wreck diving, a minimum level of Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is required. If you do not have this certificate, you can obtain it by following the Advanced Open Water Diver course.
