Dream Gate

Overview

This cenote is part of Sac Actun system, the largest underground river system in the world. It has been featured in many movies and documentaries: "The Cave" in 2006 and the "Secrets of the Maya Underworld" in 2005.

Dream Gate is the highly decorative cenote with many spectacular formations of stalactites, stalagmites and columns. This cenote is particularly known for its stalactites and its dark sedimentary background highlighted.

This cenote offers a combination of two different dives:

• Dream Gate Upstream
• Dream Gate Downstream

The visibility is excellent to witness the beautiful formations. You will enjoy the amazing sensation of flying between very fine stalactites and stalagmites.

For diving in cenote Dream Gate, you must possess an excellent buoyancy due to the delicacy of the rock formations. This cenote has many rich subtle and fragile geological structures.

A minimum level of Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent is required. If you do not have this certificate, you can obtain it by following Advanced Open Water Diver course PADI.
