Playa del Carmen is a worldwide well-known destination for divers.
The diving sites are all nearby, a few minutes by boat will be enough to access them. From beginner to experienced diver, everyone will be delighted by the diversity of biodiversity of the dive sites: deep diving, drift diving, wreck diving and many more.
You will explore the most colorful and interesting diving sites of the second largest coral reef in the world.
There is a large variety of dives spots, many corals and marine fauna: tropical reef fish, sponges, lobsters, groupers, sea fans, turtles, moray eels, rays, angelfish, stingrays, sergeant majors and bull sharks (from November to March).
Dive spots:
A minimum level of Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is required. If you do not have this certificate, you can obtain it by following Open Water Diver course.
Wreck diving: Mama Vina is an old shrimp ship intentionally sunk in 1995. You can also explore the interior of the ship and admire its marine life.
For wreck diving, a minimum level of Advanced Open Water Diver certification or equivalent is required. If you do not have this certificate, you can obtain it by following Advanced Open Water Diver course.
